Exeter Falcons
Exeter Falcons start the 2005 Speedway season with
a match against Rye House on Monday 21st March. This will be the
final year at their traditional home, the County Ground, as owners
the Exeter Chiefs rugby club have already sold the site to developers.
The Easter weekend sees the Falcons in Premier Trophy action firstly
against Somerset at Highbridge on Good Friday (25th), then away
to Newport on Easter Sunday afternoon (27th) with the return against
Somerset back at the County Ground on Easter Monday (28th).
This will be an exciting year for the Club as new backer Terry
Russell has plenty of money ready to pump into the outfit, as long
as the returns pick up in return. He has been heard to say that
provided planning permission is obtained for a new circuit at the
West Point Show Ground the Falcons are 99% certain to be joining
the Elite League in 2006.
This is your last chance to watch Exeter riding in the Premier
League at the traditional County Ground venue, so you should make
the effort to go along at least once this year as Speedway will
never be the same again for the Falcons.
